Three female teenagers were recently killed and one other was critically injured in a two-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler truck, an article of KHOU reported on March 21.
Reports said, on March 20, a vehicle occupied by four female teenagers on Highway 77 hit an 18-wheeler from the opposite lane. Department of Public Safety officials revealed that the vehicle driver, identified as Brittanie Tashay Johnson, 18, was using her cellphone when she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle operated by Johnson veered to the other side of the road and struck the 18-wheeler. All three passengers inside Johnson’s vehicle died instantaneously in the accident. Two of the fatalities sitting in the back seat of Johnson’s vehicle were sisters. Johnson, who was the lone survivor, suffered critical injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler, whose name was withheld, did not suffer injuries. Authorities believed that Johnson became distracted by using her phone’s GPS while driving the vehicle.
