GM To Issue 3rd Recall To 1.4M Cars Due To Unresolved Fire Hazard
The Law Offices Of Vic Feazell

General Motors (GM) is once again preparing to issue a recall of 1.4 million vehicles that pose a threat of catching fire. The same issue was addressed in a previous recall, however the issue was not resolved with the corrective repairs and the risk of leaking oil persists.

The recall was planned after GM was notified of 1,345 cars that had already undergone repairs caught fire. The affected vehicles reportedly were first recalled in 2007 due to the potential for oil to leak onto hot engine components and combust. GM has received 19 complaints of minor injuries related to the defect, and representatives have stated that the issue may be linked to “hard braking” while the vehicles are being driven. Owners of the recalled vehicles are encouraged to visit their local dealers for another repair.
