Truck Owner To Receive $2.6M Settlement From Swift Accident
A truck owner and operator whose foot was crushed in an accident is expected to receive $2.6 million worth of compensations from carrier company Swift, an article of Overdrive reported late last month.
The jury in Houston federal court concluded that the Swift company committed negligence in maintaining the truck- owned by Herbert Willoughby- when his foot was accidentally crushed by a trailer in June 2012. Aside from Swift, Willoughby also sued Home Depot and Swift truck driver Jason Cribbs in 2013. The award was ordered to compensate Willoughby’s losses after his foot was crushed by a trailer weighing 50,000 lbs including its load.
Sadly, people who are injured in truck accidents are often left permanently disabled. If you are in such situation, compensations may possibly be awarded to you if negligent parties are liable to your injuries.
