Glass May Have Contaminated Baby Food Produced By Beech-Nut Nutrition
A baby food manufacturer based in New York recently recalled certain products in the U.S. after glass bits were found inside a baby food jar, a USA Today article reported on April 16.
Beech-Nut voluntarily issued the recall after a consumer notified them of a mouth injury and a jar that contained small glass pieces. According to the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recall affected over 1,900 pounds of Beech-Nut Classic Sweet Potato and Chicken in 4oz jars that were distributed nationwide last December. After issuing apology, the company told consumers to immediately return the affected products to either get a refund or a product replacement.
